Landscape of the Imagination (Kunstenfestival Watou)

“We are in need of new landscapes. Places of experimentation, refuges and
spaces where a new humanity can be born.” – Koen Vanmechelen, inspirator

‘Landscape of the Imagination’ will take place from July 6 to September 1. Artists and poets will showcase the power of the imagination, in dialogue with each other and with several unique locations in and around the village and castle De Lovie.

The interconnectedness between the village, the landscape, the poets and the artists is what makes this festival so unique. Meet the curators, discover the participating artists & poets, or check out the Watou live calendar full of performances, concerts & engaging encounters. Experience art at unique locations, cycle past climate poetry with the bicycle route Swimming lessons for later or listen to the poetry podcast House of the poet.

Daydreaming with Stanley Kubrick

Mat Collishaw joins a number of artists in an exhibition inspired by the work of visionary director, Stanley Kubrick. Participating artists have been invited to respond to a film, scene, character or theme from the Kubrick archives, shining new perspectives onto the cinematic master’s lifework. Mat responded to Kubrick’s 1968 sci-fi masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
